BBC Top Gear in Gibraltar
The film crew for BBC’s Top Gear series were spotted in Gibraltar earlier today. The presenters, Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond, arrived on the lunchtime flight and shortly after, made their way into Spain. Preparations were made by the crew to race an Audi R8 and a McLaren Mp4-12c on the runway of Gibraltar International Airport. While most of the episode’s filming will be based in Spain, the news of their arrival in Gibraltar was very pleasing for local fans.
Clarkson was met with a personal welcome from the airport staff and tweeted a photo of himself smoking in his dedicated area “Clarkson’s Corner”. He also said he was taken back when he received a “Welcome to Spain” message from Vodafone.
Top Gear is one of the most watched factual TV programs in the world and the new series announcement has been welcomed greatly by the show’s followers. You can probably guess that many local fans are looking forward to seeing this episode.
