Our third get together was held this morning at Bar Oasis, and the weight loss recorded was excellent.  Well done to all those who are participating, but it's not to late to join us.

 

Tuesday mornings at Bar Oasis, Los Gallos between 10 and 11:30 for the princely sum of €2.50, which includes a drink.  Debs in the bar is offering healthy breakfasts as well.  

 

In addition a walking group is being formed – leaving the Bar Oasis once the weigh-in has been completed.

Hola OWL's

i joined on Tuesday, so I've not had my first weigh in yet.

I have joined every slimming club and tried most diets but after losing a bit of weight I'd get bored and find the meetings tedious and boring.

I enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere of Tuesdays meeting, no do's and do not's really suits me, usually if the leader off the group told me I couldn't have a certain food then I would crave that food until I gave in and ate it :(  

All members are doing the diets that suits them the best, I chose to do the calorie counting as a lady who goes has lost a huge amount doing it this way and she gave me the inspiration to  also do well using this plan. Just hope I look as good as her one day.

So it's so far so good for me. I will keep you posted on my first weigh in day on Tuesday morning.

Good afternoon OWL'S

Found a very low calorie recipe, I'm putting it on here as our printer is broke.

Sweet and Sour Prawn

Serves 4 

Nutritional info

Per serving: 161kcals, 0.6g fat (0.1g saturated), 10.6g protein, 27.9g carbs, 19.9g sugar, 1.6g salt

Ingredients

  1. 1 tbsp rice wine vinegar
  2. 2 tbsp soy sauce
  3. 1 tsp brown sugar
  4. 2 tbsp cornflour mixed with 2 tbsp water
  5. 425g can pineapple pieces, drained, juice reserved
  6. 1 tbsp groundnut oil
  7. 1 garlic clove, crushed
  8. Knob of fresh ginger, finely grated
  9. 2 red chillies, deseeded, 1 finely diced and 1 sliced
  10. 1 red pepper, sliced
  11. 225g can water chestnuts, drained
  12. 200g large raw peeled prawns
  13. 4 spring onions, sliced lengthways, to serve

Method

  1. 1. Mix the vinegar with the soy sauce, sugar, cornflour mix, pineapple juice and 100ml water. Heat a wok over a high heat, then add the oil, garlic, ginger and diced chilli. Stir-fry for 30 seconds, then add the pepper, pineapple and water chestnuts. Cook for 2 minutes, add the sauce and cook for another 2 minutes. Add the prawns, stirring for 2-3 minutes more until cooked. Serve sprinkled with spring onion and sliced chilli.

Can't wait to try it next week :)

Laugh Good morning

My first weigh in this morning and I'm over the moon.

I lost a huge 7llbs Laugh

i know to still have a long way to go but what a start.

Ill be celebrating tonight with a cava or 2.

Good afternoon 

I lost 3 and a quarter this week.

Did well eating heathy this week again but I did go over my daily calorie allowance twice but pulled it back the days after.

loving tomatoes (tinned of fresh) cooked until thick with garlic :)

not loving buying packets of noodles with no calorie info on.

good luck for this week my fellow Owls

Hi all.

 

my third weigh in I lost just under 2llbs

today I lost 3llbs

I've now lost just over 1 stone in 4 weeks, I'm very very happy with the progress so far, couldn't and wouldn't of done it without the groups help.

i was very shocked to be offered A Choice of a vouchers for losing a stone, I chose to have a few free weeks to the class :) .

we have visitors over from tomorrow for a month, I WILL be sticking to my counting calories, I have my eyes on my target now more then ever.

Can't wait for our days out.
