El Santuario de las Carnes, Chiclana de la Frontera, Spain

Me and my partner had a lovely meal here last night and the owner was very friendly and very helpful. We both had soup for starters. I had the gazpacho for the first time and thought it was beautiful and my partner had consomme. I had a steak for main course and forgot that they cook it much rarer than chefs in England but this didn’t matter too much as the quality of the meat was excellent. My partner had fresh grilled fish.

We both had a nice desert too and washed it all down with 2 jugs of sangria which was freshly made. Overall the food was the best we have had since arriving in Spain 3 months ago.

The prices are a little high compared to English restaurants but the quality of food was in a different league. I wasn’t going to go after reading some other review online but I’m so glad I ignored them and tried it for myself.
